Hagglz
Hagglz is a mobile app that uses AI to negotiate bills, quotes, and service estimates - helping users get a better deal instantly, using just their phone’s camera. I led the entire UI and UX design process and worked closely with developers to build a smooth, intuitive cross-platform experience for both iOS and Android using React Native.

The Challenge
We needed to design an experience that made AI haggling feel simple, fast, and trustworthy — despite the complex tech behind it. The app had to feel effortless, even for users unfamiliar with AI or mobile scanning tools.
To reduce friction, we looked to apps like Shazam — where a single action leads to a powerful result. That mental model shaped our decision to make Hagglz camera-first, lightweight, and immediate.
Additional challenges included:
Educating users on how Hagglz works without adding cognitive load
Making the scan → haggle → result flow as fast and satisfying as possible
Designing for low-light environments, blurry documents, and edge cases
Supporting both iOS and Android natively via React Native
My Role & Responsibilities
UX & UI Design
Designed the complete mobile flow: onboarding, scanning, haggling, savings summary, and retries
Created lightweight, tap-to-scan interactions that mirrored the simplicity of Shazam
Designed fallback experiences for upload/manual entry and error states
Built clear progress indicators and results summaries to build user trust
React Native Implementation Support
Delivered platform-ready components optimized for cross-platform performance
Collaborated closely with developers to handle gesture-based flows and camera integration
Created scalable components for dark/light modes and future iterations
AI Experience Design
Worked with AI and product leads to craft the tone and rhythm of negotiation responses
Balanced delight, clarity, and transparency in the AI’s messaging
Designed post-result actions for feedback, retries, and sharing
Key Features Designed
Camera-first launch screen for instant action
Smart scanning flow with auto-capture and AI parsing
Multi-step haggling feedback UI with confidence indicators
Before/after savings summary and optional retry
Lightweight onboarding and tooltips for new users
